Broken Teeth

I would really like to not make this a family tradition.  I know way too many people who have had their teeth broken by doing something dumb...
OK, back story.
When I was about 11 or 12, my brothers and I snuck out to play in the snow when we were supposed to be going to bed.  I had been mad at a friend so I thought it would be a good idea to get her back for whatever it was the she did.  (I really have no idea.)  SO we proceeded to stuff her mailbox with snow.  ( I also, have no idea how this would even bother her, maybe the mailman... Anyway.)  While holding the shovel full of snow my brother would push it into the mailbox.  Well this is where things didn't go as planned.  The snow slid off the end of the shovel and because I was holding it just right, I hit myself in the face with the snow shovel.  Yes you read that right, I did it to myself.
Bigger problem... how do we sneak back into the house and tell mom what happened.  Long story short, I have had problems with that tooth ever since.

Now for the current tooth situation...
Ryann and Hailee were playing in the basement, the unfinished, concrete basement.  I don't actually know what happened except that they both came running up the stairs screaming and Ryann was covered in blood.  I thought it was just a bloody nose from falling face first.  Nope, she had a bloody nose plus she cut open her lip and her gums, she hit her chin really hard and broke her front tooth.  Why did it have to be a permanent tooth?  and in the front for that matter?

We got on the phone and facebook for a few references and got a hold of a dentist in no time.  Gotta love that fancy tooth glue that they use.  Well it was more than just glue, but either way, she was back together.  Then we just had to wait for the swelling to go down and for the bruises and gums to heal.

Hooray, we got our happy , smiley Ryann back.

Ryann Got Baptized

It's not very often that I get to sit down and do a little blogging, but I have to tell you, when the kids are in bed and the house is quiet, it is quite relaxing.
Tonight I thought I would talk about miss Ryann.  This young lady is the best big sister.  She is so helpful with her younger brothers and she just loves being a "little mama".  She is very smart and does very well in school.  All of her teachers have just loved having Ryann in their classes.  Ryann has a very sweet spirit and is always trying to do what is right.  But I have to tell you that this young lady sure does have a stubborn side, I won't say which parent she gets that from.
I am so proud of Ryann and for her decision to be baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  There was a short period of time that we though we might have to change the day of her baptism or maybe even have someone else baptize her.  She was willing to wait as long as her daddy go to do it.  They practiced a few "dry runs", to make sure that daddy's healing arm would be up to the task.
Sweet giggly girl.

I love how much family support we have.

Miss Ryann Jennifer Pearson and her daddy, on her baptism day.
Sure enough, Ryann was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on November 7, 2015.  We love you Ryann.

Be Awesome

I have started to collect quite a number of medals from races.  Some of these are from the kids dance recitals or soccer leagues, but the majority are from my races.  When we started planning to move, I really kept thinking about how I would store them.  I hated just having them in a shoe box.  So after a little while on pinterest, this is what I came up with.  Sadly they just got put into a box until we were more settled into the new house.

Hooray!  I love how they look together on the wall.

Pretty soon I'm going to have to make another one.  The more races I do, there won't be anymore room.  Also, I don't share very well.

Our Irish Twins

Grandma was so excited when she saw these outfits, she had to buy them for the baby boys.  I love taking pictures of the two of them together, but I think they had other ideas.  It begins.  I'm pretty sure that these boys are going to be best of friends one day, then the next want to beat the other one up.
Bridger and Brian shortly after baths.
Brian wiggling around and hits Bridger.

Bridger tries to hit Brian back, but mama won't let him.

Sad Mr. Bridger can't hit back. Hmmm?  Brian looks a little mischievous.

First Day at the New Schools

How on earth did our baby girl grow up so fast?  We're in trouble.
August 24, 2015
Kids started school and we're getting back into a normal routine.
Hailee (7th) goes to North Davis Jr. high and Blake (4th), Ryann (2nd), and Phoenix (1st) all go to Antelope Elementary.

Blake was a little shy his first couple of weeks, but has made plenty of friends.  Some of them come over almost everyday.

Phoenix- First day of all day school.  She was pooped afterwards and ended up taking a nap after school.
Confident Miss Ryann has no worries about making new friends and had a great first day.

Sneaky Ryann

When Ryann was supposed to be in bed,
I saw her sneaking back to her room.
Silly girl.

Easter

Easter morning.

We went to visit in Grandma Pack's ward and stay for dinner.
I was very surprised how many people didn't recognize me.  Especially for growing up in the same neighborhood.

Ryann, Hailee, Blake and Phoenix.

Maybe one day I'll pay for professional pictures, but for now...
I think we look pretty cute together.

And yes, I did make the girls dresses, Blake's appliqued shirt, and the lining skirt and dickie for the bought sundress.  Damon's shirt was bought.

Official sign of Spring

Around our house, you can always tell whe spring is officially here by Blake's hair.

 The last couple of years.

The day that we cut Blake's hair he met a new friend...

Have you ever seen a car with a mohawk?

MMM Birthday Cake

I heard you could make fondant out of marshmallows, so I had to try it.
Yep you can.
1/2 bag of small marshmallow
2 T water
4 C powdered sugar
food coloring
I wanted to make leaves and try out some of my new fondant tools, so I rolled a couple of colors together, cut out a leaf shape, and started to roll the edges.
They looked pretty cool, but I didn't know what to do with them.  So they just got eaten.

Then for Denise's birthday, I rolled it together to cover her cake, just like fondant.
I also made the fancy bow, I think that was my favorite part.
Turned out pretty good for a 1st attempt, (just don't look too closely).
Denise seemed to enjoy it.  Now I just need to practice piping words.

Then for the next birthday in January.  I melted chocolate and added cream for some ganache.  I used it as a filling in the middle and as a frosting.  Then added some sliced almonds around the outside.

Rose seemed to enjoy blowing the candles out on this one.  It was really rich, but if you are a chocolate lover, it was delicious.

Next cake was for my niece Kenzy (which is the same day as Rose's).  This cake wasn't nearly as cool as the cake I got the idea from, the thing was a massive castle.  But really how much cake does a 5 year old need?

Next was a birthday cake for Hailee in February.  Well it wasn't really cake, but it sure looked pretty.
Rice crispy treats with ganache drizzled over the top and chocolate covered strawberries.
I used a little ribbon around the bottom of each tier to add some color.

The strawberries were gone before we knew what happened.  The Rice Crispy's didn't take too long either.

In March we had a Relief Society birthday activity.  A number of different ladies signed up to bring cupcakes.  I should have taken my camera because mine looked lame in comparison.
This was another idea I got off Pinterest, if you haven't been on there yet, don't.  You'll waste a lot of time that I'm sure you don't have.  I know I do.

Blake's birthday was the same day I had the RS birthday, so it was nice to just make all the cupcakes and the cake at the same time.
I saw a really cool construction themed cake online awhile ago, so when I saw these little toys I had to buy them and make a similar one.
I crushed up some Oreos for the dirt and dyed some coconut green for the grass.  Winco had some awesome candy rocks and with the trucks, it wasn't really much work.
A big dirt cake doesn't need to look pretty, just tasty.

It's a good thing that we don't have more than 1 or 2 birthdays each month.  I might start having problems with my sugar intake.
