Good times, good times.
I would say this was one of the best girls camps I have ever been too.
We worked hard and we played hard.
Monday, we stake leaders headed up to camp Everett, set up our camp, set up our "treasure hunt", reviewed our combined activities, and went on our the "long" hike (it was only 2 miles). Then before bed, we reviewed, then laughed and laughed.
Tuesday, the wards came up to camp, set up their camps and we all met together for flag ceremony and lunch.
Here are the only pictures I have on my camera- our first flag ceremony.
The rest of Tuesday, we visited with the wards and made sure everything was good. We didn't get to bed very early this night, which did not help with our giggling problem.
Wednesday was busy... Tiff, Julie and I, helped 5 of the wards with the treasure hunt.
Roxanne and Dawn, ref'ed a few volleyball games.
Judy and Connie, helped a few of the wards with their service projects.
Steph, Jana and Melanie, took care of concerns and made lunch.
We all had about 10 minutes to eat lunch, then were off to our different assigned games.
The wards rotated through our games over the next 3 hours.
(I really need to get some pictures from these games, they were very entertaining.)
After we had a quick meeting, cleaned up, then headed to the amphitheatre for skits and our flag retirement.
The skits were really funny, mostly because we had given each of the wards, "curses". Each ward had to do something anytime they heard a whistle blow. (sneeze, swat away mosquito's, pretend to pass out, etc.) Plus each ward had a physical curse (hop everywhere, keep their arms straight, give themselves bunny ears, etc.)
After the skits, we had a really cool presentation and flag retirement. (I really need to get some pictures from Tiff, I took some on her camera.)
After the flag retirement, we hung out around the fire and stayed up way too late, again.
But we sure did have some good times.
Thursday, both Roxanne and I found tics... stupid bugs. Luckily, we had our trusty nurse Dawn.
Later we took the majority of the girls on the hike (2 miles), and a few other girls went on a shorter hike (~1/2 mile). After the hikes, we had lots of watermelon to eat. The 19th ward turned it into a watermelon eating contest. Those girls make me laugh.
After lunch, Tiff, Julie and I, helped the remaining 5 wards on the "treasure hunt".
Judy, Steph and Roxanne, helped with service projects and volleyball games.
Nurse Dawn took care of our sick little campers.
After our evening flag ceremony, all the ward leaders combined and played a couple of volleyball games. Then the stake leaders took on the winners, yep, we won.
After our volleyball fun, we all headed to our own camps for testimony meetings.
Lets just say our testimony meeting was one I'll never forget. There were a few moments, where not a single person could talk because we were all laughing too hard. It sure was a good thing that Connie had given us all tissues before she left. I'm sure it didn't help, that none of us had had more than 5 or 6 hours of sleep any one of the nights.
Friday morning we all met together for a final flag ceremony, had awards, sang Walk Tall in a sisterhood circle, then had a quick breakfast before packing up and heading home.
We worked hard, we played hard, and we are truly blessed from our Father in Heaven.
